EVO have extensively examined the Maverick X3 and have determined through many hours on the dyno that the stock air filter canister outlet is too small when trying to make big horsepower. Any restriction before the turbocharger directly effects power output. Also, the factory accordion style intake boot creates turbulence as air enters the mouth of the turbocharger which also negatively effects turbocharger efficiency. EVO V-FLOW intake vastly enlarges the factory filter canister outlet by replacing the pressed in end cap with their anodized, billet aluminum replacement. The OEM filtration system remains unchanged in terms of how it filters dirty air. The only difference is it is much more efficient with their larger outlet and smooth silicone rubber transition hose.
