Description
After years of testing, development and several years on the market, Racer Tech has proven to have the best replacement spring options for todays UTV's. Now we are happy to release the newest option for the RZR XP 1000 using OEM shocks. This is a Racer Tech D.I.S.S. Dual Rate Kit in the front which gives a substantial improvement in ride quality while improving handling as well at G-out resistance. We've found the perfect combination of spring length to rate ratio and are very happy with our results. This kit is for all four corners of the machine. It provides a short spring, a long spring and a delrin spacer for each shock as well as adapters for the front shocks to run 2.5" springs.
The XP 1000 is a completely different animal. It's suspension works unlike any other model in the past and unfortunately we don't think it works very well! The rear end lifts hard when braking and does not reset when getting back on the gas. This makes the RZR very top heavy in the turns and can cause a "two wheeling" effect which ultimately ends up in a roll over or at least, very slow and boring performance. Another inherent negative is the dreading "bucking" effect all RZR's are known for. No matter what the OEM says, it's still very apparent in the RZR XP 1000.
Racer Tech worked with G Force Suspension Technologies for over three months testing countless spring variations until we had something perfect for the front using our D.I.S.S. technology. Then we determined we would need to completely redesign a rear system to work with this models unique characteristics. The result is the kit you see here. It cannot be rivaled by any other kit on the market for it's price or performance. With this kit, the XP 1000 squats and grips at the exact moment you expect in a corner, every time. The amount of control these springs give the RZR is incredible. Due to so much travel the car feels much like a trophy truck with this kit but once the shocks are adjusted properly and the driver gets used to the handling the car is a completely new machine. The bucking is all but eliminated as well.
In his first outing with the production Racer Tech RZR XP 1000 spring kit, G Force valving and an otherwise completely stock car, Professional G Force / Racer Tech driver Jamie McCoy took 1st overall in UTVRR North Round 9 on 11/9/13 in Windrock, TN. Additionally, Jamie set a new course record by nearly 30 seconds! This was done with nothing but the Racer Tech dual rate kit available here and G Force valving.
The spring kit alone will make a night and day difference in the performance of the RZR. This is enough of an improvement most recreational driver's will never need to make any other internal adjustments to the shocks and will be able to fine-tune the ride with the external adjustments provided on the OEM shocks. For the customers wanting more, contact G Force suspension Technologies for custom valving. Note: Racer Tech does not offer valving service nor do we handle the shocks for G Force. For revalving services please contact them directly!
The kit was designed to lower the car at minimal preload. At minimum, the car at OEM weight should sit around 11-12" measured from the bottom of the chassis. However, since there is so much adjustment available on this kit is is easy to still maintain 13-14" of clearance by simply adding more preload. This kit will work for almost any RZR XP 1000 no matter the setup. If you have a very light machine you can run minimal preload. If your RZR is loaded down with accessories and cargo most often simply turn up the preload until you achieve the desired ride height.
This kit is 100% MADE IN THE U.S.A. and we at RT are VERY proud of this!
Kit includes (8) springs, (4) spring spacers and 4 front spring adapters. All springs come with silver powdercoat.
